Who does Chance look like?
I get this question so many times by strangers. "He dosen't look like who! Who does he look like?" Now I really HATE this question. As this is protraying to Chance that he has to "look" like someone to be a part of a family. How do I answer this? Sometimes I just say "my husband has fair skin and blond hair", sometimes I say he looks a bit like everyone (also true - he has my check bones and smile I think, he's got Andrew's skin colour, he and Skylar both have blond hair). Sometimes I just come out and say "he looks like his birth mom" which usually shuts them up right away! But I think Chance does look like Carrie (his birth mom), and I'm sure he looks like his birth dad as well. And I'll always wonder what Chance's older brother looks like (I would love to see what he looks like, maybe some time in the future contact can be made and exchange photo's). But why does everyone have to ask that question? I don't like going around and telling everyone that Chance is adopted - I am not ashamed of the fact and speak openly about it, but I think complete strangers don't need to know, and I would also like Chance to be able to tell people when he is ready about his past and how he came to our family. But some people just have to be rude!
